Occam's Razor: the simplest solution is always the best. A decidedly difficult axiom by which to live life, however, it turns out, an incredibly unique model on which to build games! No, I’m not talking about the newest trend in LARP-ing: LASI (Live Action Space Invaders)! I’m referring to Windosill, a recent game by VectorPark: an unusually original game/puzzle/unnecessarily-simple-oddities-for-my-browser creator.
Windosill is an at first confusing, eventually intriguing, and finally addicting puzzle-a-rama consisting of vaguely familiar shapes and objects doing typically simplistic actions (a ball rolling, a spring springing, a giant monster eating bubbles… you know: normal). The best thing about Windosill, and all of VectorParks games/animated oddities, is that there are absolutely ZERO instructions. It’s a trial-by-error, click-and-see, eight year olds dream scenario where answering the question “I wonder what this button does?” seldom ends in the suspension of your allowance, extra chores, and a 3-month grounding to pay for the damage to the hood of a particular male parent’s car caused by an inappropriately accessible belt sander.
Go ahead, push the button!
Ever find yourself wondering what would happen if you take everything that is currently packed floor to ceiling in your hall closet and just dumped it into the middle of the oceans with an unending, carnal need to balance them on a couple dozen hangers from the middle of the sky? Then try out VectorPark’s other game, Levers.
