Electric Box 2
POSTED BY: keith@playvue

Electric Box 2 Online Puzzle Game

Electric Box 2 is the significantly more polished followup to the original Electric Box, a contraption-type puzzle game that could leave even your neighborhood rocket scientist drooling.

The second version has many more levels, higher quality graphics and more components. But still includes a level creator and, unfortunately, the same creepy music and piercing sound effects (but thankfully a mute button). Place various electrical components on a prearranged grid to supply power to the target, whose sole purpose is apparently to emit an ethereal series of tones which can make you question whether you were just transported to a different dimension. Arrange, swap, and flip the provided components and giggle your best maniacal laugh while you flip the switch and witness your creation come to life. Use light bulbs and solar panels, heaters, steam generators and teapots (yes, your grandma was involved in the component selection process), various bots reminiscent of nano-sized bulldozers (my favorite is the spy bot which acts like a petulant little brother by mimicking the first thing it finds), futuristic, electricity generating robotic hamsters (no, I can’t prove that they’re robotic) and cannons (what game is complete without a 17th century-stype cannon) to solve the power grid puzzle (if only this worked for the country’s dilapidated power grid) and power the target. Why? Don’t ask questions For whom? That’s need to know only. What is with the stone walling? Excuse me, sir, you’ll have to come with us into exam room two. [Gulp!]

Electric Box 2 is like the Erector Sets, Chemistry Sets and “I wonder what I can find in my parents basement” campaigns of my childhood put together... with robots and teleporters!

Try not to burn your eyebrows off (again).

Hints:

  1. Each level requires the use of all available components and in working order. (Sorry, no sticking that extra solar panel off in the corner.)
  2. As well as powering flow generators, fans can push the flow of steam by a square in any direction.
  3. Hamsters can, apparently, only see left or right. Place their muse accordingly.

OR, try out the original
